Insulin Pump Program

JDRF has continued its advocacy efforts to expand the Insulin Pump Program (IPP) since its inception in 2008 and in 2018 the Government provided additional funding for the IPP. This allowed 312 more families access to the life-changing technology of insulin pumps which they would not have been able to afford otherwise.

“THANK YOU for all the work you guys do to make sure the Federal Government continue to contribute to the Insulin Pump Program. We have been lucky enough to have been given 2 pumps in 5 years.

Hannah is now 7 years old and has had T1D since she was 15 months old. She is needle phobic after enduring 5 needles a day where we were holding her down to jab her. She does not cope well without a pump so when her first pump was out of warranty and playing up - to be able to receive another one gave us so much peace of mind and Hannah was so relieved to NOT have to revert to needles. We also have a Dexcom CGM funded through the Federal Government CGM Program - the 2 together have made living with T1D as easy as possible.

We still have days that are very tough and challenging but we are so happy that we live in such a great country with an amazing, sympathetic, supportive Government who are committed to helping families live the best lives they can.

Thank you - Bronwyn (Hannah’s mum)”
